The city of Izmir is the third biggest city of Turkey with the total population of over 3 Mio citizens. The public transport is dominated by bus services. Additionally a light rail line offers connection links the suburbs and the southern downtown. The project scope includes design, consultancy, implementation and commissioning of a high-capacity commuter rail service on the basis of the existing but outdated suburban rail infrastructure along the North-South corridor.

In this context, it includes providing recommendations for verifying the consistency of existing preliminary studies, identifying and eliminating missing definitions, analyzing the existing railway plan and improving its activities.

Within the scope of the project, all works carried out within the creation of the suburban system were followed up by the work program, control of progress payments, participation in temporary and final acceptance, preparation of the entire system with its subsidiary facilities, and completion of the trial operation during the operation period.
