The project route starts by separating from the Bayburt - Gökçedere state road passing through the Demirözü District of the Bayburt Province and ends by connecting to the existing state road within the Otlukbeli District of the Erzincan Province.

The existing road is horizontally and vertically at very low geometric standards. The aim of this project was to correct these sections and to increase the standards in terms of geometric and traffic safety. In addition, since a part of the existing road will be submerged in the Demirözü Dam, the axis was designed according to the maximum water elevation of the dam.
